CSUMB designates three official colors:
- Bay Blue (PMS 540)
- Golden Sand (PMS 871 metallic)
- Valley Green (PMS 341)
This color triad reflects the natural beauty of our region, with balanced respect for the agricultural and marine influences that shape our surrounding environment and communities.
- Valley Green represents the agricultural abundance of the Salinas Valley and the surrounding vineyard-lined hills.
- Bay Blue represents the riches of the Monterey Bay and the broader Pacific Ocean.
- Golden Sand represents the common ground that connects them.
All three colors rank equally, with no distinction of primary or secondary status.
NOTE: Following an extensive and thoughtful process that involved students, faculty, and staff, our official CSUMB colors changed effective July 1, 2007 by decision of the CSUMB President's Cabinet on June 18, 2006. You will find information on the current official colors below. We have archived the old official colors information.
